Anthony’s Story

Case Study

Meet Anthony, a hardworking man who is dedicated to helping women suffering from fistula, by referring them to our Dar Es Salaam facility. Working as an ambassador since 2019, he has supported more than 30 women and girls to access free fistula treatment at CCBRT.

Anthony doesn’t work alone, he collaborates with community members, and uses advertisements to reach even more people. Despite the many barriers to treatment women face such as lack of awareness, transport challenges, cost of treatment, as well as stigmatization, Anthony still persists. “I do not give up… What I believe is that this is a work of blessing because I help people in need. I love my job and I will continue to educate my community members about fistula. This helps to spread awareness on the condition as well as prevent women suffering from fistula from being stigmatized,” says Anthony.

Anthony is grateful to CCBRT for giving him the opportunity to serve the people in his community to regain their dignity and future hopes for their children. Through his work as an ambassador, he has learned to love and be willing to help those in need. Additionally, the financial support he receives for his work has helped him provide for his family. He congratulates CCBRT and everyone who has made free holistic treatment for women with fistula possible.
